Two Peaks In One Day Ride ~ Orcas Island

I was lucky enough to arrive on Orcas Island the day before Moran State Park closed many of the best trails to Mountain Bikes. I met this group at the Wildlife Cycles Bike Shop on the island. What a wonderful group of people! We biked 29 miles; climbing Mount Constitution (2409 ft) and Mount Pickett (1750 ft). This was a great ride. Much of the forest had groves of 500+ year old trees!

Celebrating the Thea Foss Superfund Cleanup on a Dragon Boat

I was a part of the Thea Foss Superfund Site Clean-up Celebration with the Washington Dragon Boat Association. We released 12 colorful, Japanese-style glass fishing floats into the waterway. The floats symbolize the city's 12-year commitment to the Foss cleanup and revitalization. I am the left most person on the boat (click on the picture to enlarge).
